Half Marathon Pollença 2012

Due to its excellent reception in previous years the City Council of Pollença is preparing the “VI Half Marathon Pollença” for both local and visiting athletes alike. The Half Marathon will be held on Sunday April 1^st and will begin at 10.00h, enjoying the collaboration, sponsoring and participation of many companies and institutions from Pollença, Mallorca and the Balearic Islands. Like every year, the race will begin in Pollença, the location to which Cala Sant Vincenç belongs and in which you will find the Hotel Cala Sant Vincenç. The route takes participants from here, to the port of Pollença, returning to the departure point.
This year’s Half Marathon continues with the Ucinckaeme Peoples race. Being the third edition will incorporate an important development: the 1st Nordic Walking race. In addition, from 10.00h to 11.00h there will also be children’s activities – for children from 7 to 12 years of age. It is useful to know that only children participating in activities have access to the slopes of Pollença, located on the northern coast of the Serra de Tramuntana, We look forward to the participation of Pollença and its visitors in order to improve this event each year. It is also a unique opportunity for all sports fans to come and spend a few days in one of the hotels in Pollensa.

IX Pollença Wine Festival 2012

After the success of previous years, Pollença prepares for the ninth edition of the Pollença Wine Fair. This event will take place on 21st and 22nd April in the Cloister of the Santo Domingo Convent, a charming venue in front of the Joan March gardens, in which cultural activities are organized throughout the year.

This fair is a must for wine lovers and will involve more than 40 wineries from the Balearic Islands. The Hotel Cala Sant Vincenç, situated in an idyllic location on the north coast of Mallorca will be present at these celebrations, along with other hotels from Pollença and invites all clients to enjoy this excellent opportunity to learn about and taste the best of our islands wines, which are, each day, more established and recognized.

2012 Holy Week in Pollença

From April the 5th to April the 8th

The Holy Week in Pollença is the celebration of the mystery of death and resurrection of Christ. It begins with the traditional Palm Sunday, day on which the people go out in procession throughout the streets of Pollença with their traditional olive branches and palm shoots and ends on the resurrection day, Easter Sunday.
On Thursday the Holy Blood procession, organized by the Holy Week Brotherhood Commission, is a procession that begins in the Parish church of Pollença, on the main square, and makes a journey through the different streets of the town via the traditional tables of passion set in biblical passages.

Friday is certainly the most important religious and artistic event “el Davallament” the awe-inspiring silent Descent of the Calvary, a procession that begins at the top of the Calvary and ends in the Parish church of Pollensa.
On Easter Sunday, the Day of Resurrection, a traditional procession celebrates the resurrection of Christ.
Pollença is faithful to its traditions and is probably one of the towns in Majorca where they live Easter more intensely

With the eventual aim of trying to constantly improve and provide the customer the maximum comfort and service, we, the Hotel Cala Sant Vicenç, have envisaged, for the upcoming 2012 season (early April), the opening of a multipurpose room for conducting events, meetings and conferences.
The area set will have a capacity of over 50 people, coffee break service, free Wi-Fi access, tables and all the material and equipment needed for meetings or other events such as projectors, televisions, office equipment, microphones, etc…
This new initiative makes the Hotel Cala Sant Vicenç an ideal place for seminars, incentive trips and business trips. After a working day, guests will be able to relax in the comfortable facilities of the hotel, be captivated by the magnificent views of the “Serra de Tramuntana” (declared World Heritage by UNESCO) or enjoy the excellent cuisine offered by the hotel or the Pollença area.

Our pricing for 2012 takes on a different format from previous years; we appreciate that forward planning of holidays isn’t so easy but considered it was unfair that our loyal guests, who booked early, were not getting such a good deal as those guests making late bookings, thus taking advantage of reduced rates. So, for 2012; the sooner you confirm your reservation the lower the price!! Take full advantage of this offer because as occupancy of the Hotel rises so does the price. Remember that you will also get lower rates on your flight by booking well in advance!!

Our new philosophy to offer reservations for “adults only” has been a great success; thus guaranteeing your peace and tranquility in all areas of the Hotel, complimenting our oasis in one of the most emblematic coastal villages of Mallorca.

As children under the age of 16 will be accepted during July and August this offers the opportunity for our family bookings to continue.

Opening 2012

As the chilly evenings arrive our Hotel Cala Sant Vicenç has closed for this year but we are already preparing for our next season! We will re-open for 2012 on the 5^th April ; just in time for Easter!

During the cooler months and in order for full use and enjoyment of our oasis of gardens and terraces, we will be heating the swimming pool water.

Our Hotel Cala Sant Vicenç offers complete and varied eating options, adaptable to our guests personal requirements; from a simple coffee to a gala dinner.

Conference facilities will also be available from spring 2012. With seating for 50 people and various sized tables, this multi functional area can also be used for meetings, private parties, weddings or special celebrations. Our facilities include free use of WiFI. All types of office materials, projectors, televisions, microphones etc., can be supplied to order.

Catering options from “coffee breaks” to working lunches can be tailor made to meet your personal requirements.
