We release a new menu for the Cavall Bernat Restaurant.

At the beginning of this season we are launching the Hotel Cala Sant Vicenç adults only hotel. (Except July and August). The hotel presents its new spring menu for the Cavall Bernat restaurant.

The restaurant has decided to take a new direction to a traditional Mallorquin cuisine that combines the typical Mallorcan ingredients with the culinary vanguard techniques. All the meals are cooked with seasonal high quality products. As a result, delighting the client with meals that are a gift for the palate.

Our dishes:

The new menu is a reflection of the privileged environment in which is Cala San Vicenç (in the town of Pollença), at the foot of the Tramuntana mountains and surrounded by the crystal clear Mediterranean Sea. The rabbit with onions and tasty lobster with broken potatoes is an example of the perfect fusion of seafood and mountain.

The starters will delight the customers, the “coca de verdura” (vegetable pastry) and herring or the Mallorcan pork foie gras with chutney and strawberries and spiced bread. As a main course the customer can choose between a fresh fish such as baked cod with “ali oli”  and tumbet , savory creamy fish rice  and shell fish and muslin, or the tasty meats like suckling slow roasted Mallorcan pig or lamb flavored with thyme and what a better way to end a good meal with a dessert. Among the specialties are the popular almond sponge and ensaimada pastry with a rich garnish.

The Cavall Bernat restaurant has an excellent service that characterizes the Hotel Cala Sant Vicenç and looks forward to all visitors to enjoy a delicious meal in this fine area of the north of  Mallorca.

A path full of contrasts and distinct areas. The first part runs through the grounds of several “possesions” located in intricate valleys and large areas of “Oliveres” (fields of olives), then the road changes its landscape, parallel to the coast and the sea as a companion, we will go through a former power station that produced the light of the Soller valley by the source with the largest capacity of Mallorca, Sa font des Verger. At the end of the tour will reach Tuent Creek, magnificent cove surrounded by towering peaks and where you can take a short break, or why not a bath.

Added value:

Area of outstanding natural beauty. Rural architecture and defense. Possibility of lunch in the creek itself or in a restaurant at the end of the route.

Variations:

If the time and strength permit, you can take a deviation to visit the Tower of na Seca, one of the many watchtowers that are found along the coast.

Excursion between Valldemossa and Deia which is part of the Route of the “Pedra en Sec” (Dry Stone), and it brings many values​​, landscape, ethnological, but mostly historical. A road runs through oak woods, where we find “rotllos of sitja of Carboner” remains “cases of Carboner” and other buildings of great value. Cross the roads built by the Archduke Luis Salvador passing through unimaginable places, the lookouts, former haunts in  ruins, vultures in flight, oak … up to the vila of Deia, home of Robert Graves, painters, poets; a picturesque place, with beautiful views and a unique environment of Mallorca.

Panoramic landscape views but mostly of great ethnological value. This walk is part of the “dry stone wall” route and takes you though thick oaks woods in which you can actually “hear” the silence. Once at the highest point of the path “Coll des Prat” apart from the spectacular views of the bays of Pollensa and Alcudia we find “les cases de neu”, dry-stone buildings that were made for storing snow during the winter and then lowered to the local residents in spring and even lasting through the summer.
It drops to the “cami de nevaters” or “des Galileu voltes” both road used to transport the ice. The walk ends at Lluch monastery,  which alone deserves a visit!

Added value:

Climb to the summit “Massanella, Galileu”, viewing vultures, etc.

Variations:

If the weather permits, this route may take us on the north face to “Galileu or Massanella”, worth the effort for the magnificent panoramic views that can be enjoyed.
